Dean's Message

Henry van Dyke wrote "Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best."

A school is a place where children feel safe and able to find their strengths. At PSB Singapore School, we stretch the students' abilities academically. However, not everyone can excel in the academic area although we must strive to perform to the best of our abilities.

Realising that the students' strengths may lie in areas beyond academic, namely aesthetics and sports, PSB Singapore School provides activities to complement the academic areas. When students are recognised for their strengths, in whatever areas, they will develop a better self-esteem. Self-confidence is needed when the students enter the workforce.

Having all the strengths but with no values to provide direction is futile. Values education, mostly through teachable moments, has to be stressed. We want the future generation to know how to act responsibly respecting the rights of self and others.

I am glad to say that PSB Singapore School is a truly holistic school.
